These people are WONDERFUL! Called me back within a few hours, gave me all the rates over the phone, & got me scheduled within a week. The lady who returned my call gave me all the details about the cleaning, told me the source of the cleaning supplies so I could research and ensure they were as eco-friendly as I wanted. (They are BTW.)
They called the day of the appt. and had availability earlier in the day and that worked for my hubby who was home so they came over early. We have WHITE carpets, about 1.5 yrs. old. Nothing dramatic in terms of stains, but definite daily wear and stains here & there. My husband was really pleased with the folks that came to do the work and thought they were very polite and professional.
When they left the carpets were a touch wet so they gave my hubby booties to wear around until they dried. By the time I got home from work they were nearly 100% dry and look BRAND NEW! I am so happy!
I will definitely be using Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners again - probably twice a year going forward to keep my white carpets white! :-)

As a person with allergies and a strong healthy respect for the environment, these guys are a godsend. I've used them for years, and now that their secret is out on Yelp, they're busy as heck, but the customer service is still flawless and phenomenal.
I'll be up front and say that the only experience I've ever had with carpet cleaning was renting a Rug Doctor from Safeway. It should follow that I would probably be happy with any carpet cleaning I didn't have to do myself.
And this was more than satisfactory. Friendly service arriving right on time and the work was done in about an hour. Another huge plus is that the prices are reasonable. I do try to do green things where possible but not if it's waaay more expensive than any other way. I'd say $150 for a decent sized one bedroom apartment is more than fair and the lack of chemicals and bio diesel truck are just bonuses. In fact, they could up their prices and I probably still pay it. (But please don't!) Thanks for making green affordable Healthy Choice! Oh and moving all my stuff around forced me to do an insane cleaning overhaul. Now I have clean carpets and less crap.

I can echo all of the other positive comments. I chose this business because of the opinions of fellow yelpsters and it was definitely the right way to go.
When I first called and left a message, I later received a call from Mary at exactly the time when I said I would be available for call back. She was friendly, professional, provided all the information I could need and was able to schedule an appointment for me quickly. The technician Jose was a total gentleman and considerate of some special needs. End result: Service was excellent, and the job performed perfectly.
Regarding cost: I needed about 450 s.f. cleaned for one large living room and a hallway which cost their minimum fee of $150. I've paid more in the past and not received as good a quality of results.
I completely recommend.
So, this could have gone terribly wrong. My wife called and spoke with the woman at HCCC and scheduled an appt for a Friday around 11. She takes the day off work. These guys don't show. She calls and they say that they remember her but didn't think any reservation had been made. Furious wife. They see what they can do. We get a call back saying they can be at our place later that day around 4. John comes, does a beautiful job, knocks a couple bucks off the bill and throws in a rug cleaning. Talk about professional. We could have been Stanley Steemer clients going forward, now I wouldn't think of using anyone but HCCC. Carpets looked better than ever, the place just seems CLEANER!
I have to say these guys really impressed me with their level of service and generosity. Just know the the minimum is $150 and you need to have parking available for small moving truck in front or on your property. It is not a van, but a 20-ft truck.
If you don't have that kind of budget, save everyone some time.
Superb and smart customer service. You might find somebody cheaper, but then you might be working with an idiot.

We desperately needed our carpets cleaned, and after browsing Yelp, I chose Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners because of the rave reviews. I try to use natural cleaning products in my house whenever I can, so I was really happy to have a natural carpet cleaner. I was able to easily get a quote on the phone, and when John Stewart showed up, he actually quoted us less--a very pleasant surprise! He really is a one man wonder, transforming our carpets in about an hour, and he left booties for both me and my roommate. It took our carpets longer to dry than he estimated, but at that point it didn't matter. Definitely calling them again the next time we need clean carpets!

I came across Healthy Choice in the Green Zebra coupon book. I agree with what everyone else says here (courteous, early, nice people) except I think my carpets are actually cleaner than they were when we used Stanley Steemer, and we paid slightly less. Plus their cleaner is made out of grapefruit seeds....how cool is that? You can read my review of Stanley Steemer, which I thought was wonderful.

After seeing all of the positive reviews here I was excited to use Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners. Unfortunately, after leaving several messages on their voicemail (a live person never answered the line) over several days I never heard back from them.
Perhaps they are on vacation but I would think the voicemail would indicate that.
Needless to say, I have chosen to take my business elsewhere.
There's not enough stars for me to give these guys. Awesome job of getting all the dirt and stains out. These guys are professional and damn the carpet looks almost like brand spanking new...Awesome job. Wow...

John Stewart showed up on time, alone, and I witnessed him perform a miracle. The cream colored wall-to-wall carpeting was so far gone I didn't have much hope. I thought he might arrive, look at the carpet and tell me 'no way.' It looks brand new now. And it smells great! Grapefruit seed extract and water. And he is so fast! Amazing.

Like thesee guys need another 5 star review? But I just can't help myself. :) I gave them a try after reading the glowiing stuff here on Yelp, and yep, they're great. Polite and friendly on the phone when I called to set up the appointment and when it came time for them to show up (big brownie points here) they were right on time. Comcast take note! So now the carpets are nice and clean, great light grapefruit scent, no chemicals, and no pushy upsell. I like that. You could say that I'm a happy camper. :)

Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners are really great, I agree with everyone on here. Jose came over right on time and was very friendly and nice. He did a bang-up job and got rid of all our tough carpet stains, especially the ones by the front door. The products smelled like oranges and were not super slippery. They were also less expensive than other cleaner's I've used and they did a better job! I'd definitely call them again. A very positve experience, thanks guys!!
Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners is wonderful! Mary was very professional on the telephone. We hired HCCC because they use natural carpet cleaners. John worked really hard to get the carpet stains off, and in one case he cleaned a section of the carpet twice to get rid of them. He successfully removed the carpet stains! The light, heavily stained carpet looked NEW after John cleaned it! My boyfriend's jaw dropped when he saw how good it looked. John also gave us booties and pads to put the furniture on. John and Mary were very nice to work with. We're extremely happy with the results and would definitely hire them again!

Based upon fellow Yelp reviews, I hired the Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners. They are terrific! Kian came out to do the cleaning. Here's what was good:
1) Attention to detail like offering me booties for my shoes so I wouldn't track dirt on the newly cleaned carpet and the booties helped keep my shoes dry. The carpet is damp, not wet, when they're done.
2) Putting plastic squares under the table in the foyer after cleaning.
3) Cleaning the stairs, both the step part and the up part of the stair.
4) Venting the discharge directly into the sewage outlet instead of creating a mess on the street.
Kian was pleasant and arrived a bit early which was fine. He also had specific suggestions afterwards like turning up the thermostat above 70 degrees so it'd dry faster and cracking a window to help allow humidity to escape.
He also cleaned an area rug as part of the base fee. Another area rug that I hoped could be cleaned will be done at their shop as the colors will bleed. The only downside to that is it's $3 a square foot. Ouch! But as Kian pointed out, they treat the carpet to stabilize the colors and it gets a deep cleaning on both sides. The fee includes pick-up and delivery.
I highly recommend these folks. November and December are their heaviest use months, so if you want a clean carpet for Thanksgiving, Christmas or Hanukkah, make an early reservation.

They made my old nasty rugs look amazing. Sure there were still a couple of stains, but come on the rugs are super old and have been rolled up my garage for years!
Be patient, there are only 2 guys who do all of the jobs. Book ahead!

The service was very professional. The cleaning was fast, amazingly effective at getting out some really tough stains, and non-toxic. We had the carpets and a sofa cleaned and they did a fantastic job on both for a really great price. John is a really nice guy; we felt very comfortable having him in the house. I highly recommend Healthy Choice!!!! This one is a no-brainer; there is absolutely nothing he could have done to make his service better. Ahhhh, wouldn't it be great if all businesses were so easy to work with?!?!

I found them on Yelp and made an appointment. They came and cleaned my couch and 3 area rugs. They did a good job! The guy was very friendly and fast. Even called me early to see if he could start sooner! If you need cleaning, check them out!

These people are so great! I had them clean my off white carpets and old disgusting stairwell and hallway. My rugs looked soooooo good. No chemicals to leave that awful smell. Dry by the next morning and my kids had fun walking around in the booties they provided! Thanks healthy carpets, we'll be using you again!

Two white sofas, one indoor/outdoor black cat, one dude w/ a big veggie-fueled truck.
The truck owner, John Stewart, was in & out in one hour and did a good job. I'm not sure exactly what he was using in his hoses and vacuums but this is nothing like traditional cleaners and the chemical aftertaste they leave behind.

Thanks for the tip, Yelp! I liked the reviews I saw on Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners and I liked the fact that they don't use chemicals so I decided to give them a try.
I have to agree with all of the reviews that have been written. This company is great! John Stewart was professional, on-time, efficient and friendly. The rates are reasonable and the aftermath was great: no chemical smells (only a hint of grapefruit ) and like-new carpets - yay!

Had two wool rugs cleaned. Scheduling was very friendly and professional, and when they arrived they charged less than their estimate, because I had been generous with the dimensions. That's pretty honest dealing, if you ask me.

The Healthy Choice folks just left our pad and it looks AMAZING. We had some nasty stains I was sure would never ever come out, but they did, out of the whole one-bedroom apartment, in less than an hour.
They even gave us booties to wear around while the carpet dries so we don't mess up the floors as we wait (only 3-6 hours!)
We are so not into chemicals, and they used nothing but natural products, and it smells and looks great. (It was also cheap!)

They were on time, did a quick job, my carpets WERE SOooOO CLEAN, there was no awful smell and they give you booties to wear too. !!! Did I forget to say they are afforable, too?

Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners is the only company I would ever hire for carpet cleaning. As a property manager I have worked with them many times, throughout the Bay Area.
No nasty chemicals, even the truck they use runs on bio-diesel.
They are prompt and efficient and provide great customer service.

I had a wonderful experience with this company-- Mary and John are top notch in professionalism and candor...I had hired them to clean out my ventilation system for a new house I just bought.
I scheduled an appointment and was initially annoyed as John showed up 30 minutes late but he was very apologetic about being late and said his last customer ran late-- he did a quick assessment of the ventilation system of our house and told me that we really didn't need the service! He also cleaned out our HVAC unit, cleaned and fixed the cover to the furnace and showed me how to properly install the filter and recommendations on how to run the system to keep it clean....
On top of this he even recommended a carpet place we're going to use to put in new carpets along with details on fiber and par grades for our new home.
All told he spent about 40 minutes with me to help me with all of this and didn't charge me a dime-- his candor, demeanor, and professionalism were top notch and it's refreshing to see a vendor who's very honest because he easily could've just cleaned the vents (even though he knew they didn't need it) and charged me $300 and I'm sure I would've been satisfied as well.
I highly recommend this company for their ethics and honesty-- and good karma always comes around. I will definitely be calling them again when my new carpets need cleaning! Thanks John!

Allergies? Obsessive compulsive approach to cleaning? I have these problems occasionally. Professional, on-time, environmentally friendly carpet cleaning. They also gave my couch upholstery a good cleaning and were done in an hour.

Sometimes excellent Yelp reviews can overwhelm a small company. That's what's happenend in this case. I hope my good review doesn't push them over the edge.
I had a flood in my music studio which completely soaked a beautiful oriental carpet and after a few days it still wasn't drying out and had started to really stink, ew. I even rented a carpet cleaner from Safeway, which didn't help the stinky rug situation either. So, I looked up this place on Yelp and was happy to try them out. Healthy Choice Carpet Cleaners came and picked up my carpet and delivered it a couple of weeks later. I imagine if they weren't so busy it would have taken less time. But, I wasn't in a hurry anyway.
John Stewart was a sweety. He delivered the carpet to me while I was having a small party and he was very professional. The carpet looked like new and didn't stink anymore. I'm really glad I called them and would be happy to use them again. I just hope they expand their operation to accomodate all the Yelp business they are getting.

Anyone who has taken a Hot Yoga class will tell you that can expect smelly carpets. Being a hot yoga studio owner who hates to my carpets nasty and smelly, I have used a number of different carpet cleaners.
Most are ok but they are usually expensive and the order of chemical cleaners lingers for weeks.
I was driving to work one day and saw this HUGE truck that said
"Healthy Choice Carpet cleaners."
I thought I would give them a shot so I set up an appointment.
They showed up early (big wow) used all natural cleaners, did the job in a quarter of the time, charged me half of what I normally pay and the dry time was on quarter of regular carpet cleaners. They were extremely friendly and now have my business from here on out.
A must for all yoga studios who need carpet cleaning!

These guys were great. Very professional, they were early, got out every stain and even offered to help move furniture! The house didn't have any type of chemical smell at all - just a nice fresh clean scent. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs their carpets cleaned - they even came after work!

We love John Stewart. Our property management company has used him for quite some time now. I go in and clean the apartments, and I am always in awe of the job that he can do on those "tan" carpets. He is friendly, efficient, always on time and overall just a great guy. You won't be disappointed. :) He is also a great neighbor ;)

If I was allowed to give more than five stars for this company, I would. From A to Z the service is FANTASTIC. You call and talk to Mary. She's super sweet. And then the technicians come. They're awesome. They actually clean your carpets - they're the cleanest I've ever seen!!!!! Best part, there's no smell. No smell whatsoever.

OK, first I'd like to say that white carpets should be banned, abolished, done away with. However, I live in a rental and that's what came with the place. Healthy Choice came on time, quickly and efficiently cleaned my carpets, and didn't leave a chemical mess behind.
Extra super bonus points- when the cost of cleaning my carpets wasn't equal to their minimum charge, they cheerfully offered to clean any other fabric I might happen to have. So not only did I get clean carpets, I also got the inside of our car cleaned!

Great service, reasonable rates, friendly staff -- and the cleanest carpets without all that chemical smell and awful deoderizer. Their truck even runs on vegetable oil! Our carpets needed the cleaning bad and he went over the worst parts a second time with care. With other companies the carpets were pretty wet for a long time - this time minimally so. This isn't some fly-by-night carpet company - professional all the way; they know what they're doing.

john is a nice guy, he's on time, and once when he was behind schedule called, and really sweet and apologetic.
we've left them in the house alone to complete the job, i totally trust him!
we'll keep using his services.
oh yea, and as a big bonus, he converted his truck to run on veggie oil!
