Neighborhood: MissionEddie came over after 8 PM, was quick, arrived early and gave us a great rate. Not only that, but he was super friendly and very helpful! (= Five stars, all the way!
With all the great reviews and five stars on Yelp, I thought I would try their services. Very friendly on the phone, told me he would be there within half and hour and indeed he was. I was so impressed with the professionalism and their courteousness, what a great business, I didn't mind paying the fee just for the peace of mind. Oh, and it took him all of 10 seconds to do the job!
Like everybody else says --- these guys are the i$h! I locked myself out, he came -- and was actually EARLY, waiting for me to arrive right on time after work. That pretty much never happens. 5 minutes later, I was in my house, and the locksmith was chatting on my cellphone to my landlord about options to fix the lock. A mere $75 later, I was happy inside my apartment and the rest is history. These guys rock.
My neighbor's housekeeper and mine invited his homeless, sex-offender brother-in-law to stay in my neighbor's flat while she was away. Dumb move. I'm downstairs and I notice when the shower is running in a flat that's supposed to be empty. After the cops left, and I got the keys back--at least the ones that I know about--I called Eddie. He came that evening and changed all the locks, was on time as promised, and couldn't have been nicer. Six locks, three different keys, three copies of each key, a little over two hundred bucks, which in the world of locksmithing, is pretty reasonable. Call Eddie; he's good.
Eddie Kamand is an incredibly nice and helpful person. My first day moving into SF, I got locked out and I freaked out. I found Eddie on Yelp, he gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone, and he quickly came by and promptly got me back into my new apt. He helped calm my fears about living in the city, while also charging me a very reasonable price for his locksmith services. If you ever need a locksmith in SF, you won't find anyone better than Eddie. Beware of the conartist locksmiths out there, and always ask for their business license# and a quote before allowing them to do anything.

My sister locked herself out of her car. She called them and they came after hours within 1/2 hour and unlocked the car for her. Awesome and friendly ppl and you gladly pay for it :)
Prompt, (very) fast, friendly service at reasonable rates. What more could you ask? Definitely 5 star service!
Prompt, on the button response time and fantastic service. Something tells me this guy could smile through anything. Great attitude, fast, and didn't even charge me for tax. I even changed my appointment last minute and he helped out.
I should have tipped him.
Eddie understand what it takes to be in a customer service business and delivers accordingly! He was easily accessible, showed up on time, and got through the work of re-keying a houseful of locks in a snap. I first found the listing on Yelp, and then also received a thumbs up from my realtor! Yet another Yelp success.

Run by a couple of brothers, my recent experience with Kamand reiterated the awesomeness of locally-owned family businesses.
Super friendly and responsive on the phone. I needed my front door lock fixed and I had a brother at my door an hour later. Spinning bolt was a thing of the past after 10 minutes of work and now I'm a smiling and happy customer.
Very polite and professional, a locksmithing gem. Thanks guys, keep doing what you're doing.
Disclosure: this biz is a Yelp advertiser and I work for Yelp yo.

These guys get the job done! They're swift to answer calls, on-time for appointments and just nice guys!
I just had all the locks changed in my house, and they completed all changes in less than 15 minutes. Plus, they're reasonably priced. I would definitely use Kamand again and recommend them to all my friends.

First time I've been let down by the fabulous yelp community. After selecting the highest rated locksmith in the neighborhood (with 90 reviews) I figured I coundn't go wrong with Kamand...live and learn.
First issue: We scheduled an appointment almost a week in advance, but he showed up an hour early. Unfortunately my schedule is pretty inflexible and I was not there. Rather than wait for my return, which I communicated would be in 15 minutes, he went across town to do another job. So our original appointment of 1 pm on a Friday ended up being 3:30 pm simply because he couldn't wait and wanted to take another job...
Second issue: $330 for 30 minutes of work?!! Are u f'ing kidding me? I'm all for paying professionals for their experience, but you gotta be mad! I refused to pay that amount and it became a negotiation with a used car salesman. At one point I had him down to $50, but I said that all I wanted was a fair price and we agreed on $160. For those of you that felt like you were getting an "on the spot" discount...wake up! They're overpriced to begin with.
Third issue: Ok service. The locks that he re-keyed simly do not work like they used to...
I will not be using these guys again.

Eddie was amazing! Very professional and he even left me a vmail saying he was running late of our appointed time. Of course getting a lock replaced is pricey, but Eddie gave me an estimate and I would definitely use him again. He's very polite too!!

Thank you Alex for your professionalism and great work. You came when you said you would, you called to confirm, and were right on target with timing. Took 20 minutes to get a deadbolt put into my door in my office. Record time :)
Thanks again. We'll contact you when we need services once again!!!

Like many others, I found Eddie of Kamand through Yelp. My landlady's regular locksmith, who was terrible and overpriced, wasn't available one day when we were locked out of our apartment, so we found Eddie through Yelp and called him. He was at our front door in less than 20 minutes, was extremely professional, and the cost was reasonable. Now he's my landlady's new go-to locksmith, as she has used him for other locksmithing jobs since then. Highly recommended.

It seems like the other yelpers have said enough good things about Kamand - but just to add my two cents - definitely 5 stars for very good and friendly service. Eddie knew what he was doing and did it for a reasonable price. Will definitely call them again if I ever need a locksmith.

So last night our front door lock decided to jam. Found Kamand on Yelp and called Eddie at 2 PM. He said he could be to our house between 4 PM and 5 PM the same day. He arrived early before 4 PM.
Eddie fixed our lock quickly and then noticed how our door was sticking on the bottom so he fixed it. He also noticed our deadbolt was sticking so he grabbed a special drill from his van and fixed that too. He was friendly and worked quickly. Definitely will call him again if we need a locksmith.

These guys are awesome! Never had I needed locksmith services before, but in December they saved my life twice in three days: 1st time I was the stupid one that left my keys in a taxi. 2nd time, and 2 days later, because my sucky building mgmt Gaetani. Both times they were prompt coming to my rescue and even after midnight! The guy I dealt with both times is one of the owners, Eddie? Anyhow, he couldn't have been more wonderful. He was so calming and friendly when I was on the verge of freaking out. I hugged him after he got apt. door open the 1st time (which I think made him uncomfortable lol), but I couldn't help it. If you ever need a locksmith, you should call Kamand; just judge the hug-worthiness before going for it.

Okay, so, it's my last day of vacation before the weekend and I was all ready to go to the studio for some major work!
Bag - Check!
Car Keys - Check!
Mollie Stone bag with all my studio shiznit - NO!
So, I literally run back up to my room. It's locked. I take the keys to my room (hidden in a special place) and unlock my door! Green MS bag with studio goods - CHECK! Ran downstairs and realized I left my large sketchbook upstairs. Looked in the special hiding place and realized...OH NO, I left the gosh darn keys in the room! Big fat 'Ugh'. I desperately tried to pick the lock myself. Didn't work and I soon realized I would make a lousy criminal.
Looked on Yelp and found Kamand Locksmith Services! Eddie Kamand to the rescue!!!!!!!!! OMG, he told me he would be a couple of hours because he had a few jobs before my request. Totally okay with that because it was my dumb butt that left the keys in my room. He was here way under two hours - awesome! To top it off, he was super sweet, helpful and just grateful to assist!
If I could give Kamand Locksmith Services all the stars in the night sky, I would. Cheesy, I know, who cares! Kamand is the BEST! Thanks fellow Yelpers, with your help, I found one of the greatest services in the Bay Area! Score!

I called Eddie Today at 4:17 p.m. and I got in my house at 5:28. I called him back at 5:00 to ask if I could use a credit card and there was some confusion that I was indeed locked out. Even though he had a personal appoinment at 6:00 he came right over, got me in and change the locks so one key opened them both. Because of the confusion he charged me a fraction of what he usually does. Great to see someone who is professional and cares about there job.

Thanks fellow yelpers. I stupidly locked myself out of my house the other morning while letting my pup out to "do his business." I found Kamand locksmith thanks to you all and I have to say, your recs were right on target! They were super friendly, quick, professional, and polite. Hopefully I won't need them again but if I do.......they're great.

Eddie is the most professional and kind person. Initially, I called him and had to flake for personal reasons. Eddie handled the cancellation in a very professional manner. I made sure to call him today after a compromised security issue. He came out in a timely fashion and was very considerate and worked very quickly. In addition, he has exceptional phone skills and returns calls in a timely fashion and answers the phone immediately. Whenever I need a locksmith I will definitely call Eddie Kamand again!!
we need a locksmith i told my wife. here i am this big fancy handy mechanic guy and my wife was probably thinking i could get us out of this mess myself. eddie from kamand locksmith services was here in under an hour, on a sunday no less! he was out of the house in under 5 minutes.
everything we needed to get on with our day was in that room. kicking the door a la DEA drug raid style was nixed by the boss... er... i mean my wife.
who the hell has a keyed lock on the bedroom door? we do that's who. we have no need for a keyed lock, but it is there if we ever want to lock who knows who out of the bedroom. a simple push button lock easily opened with a stout pin is all that is needed to keep the peeping visitors from catching me in my bdsm hogtie ; )
very professional and fast work of unlocking of the door and they take credit cards. though paying for a locksmith to open a bedroom door is one of those high - low moments. like paying the dentist for a crown or buying a vacuum. he didn't even laugh at the whips and chains strewn about. like i said professional!

Eddie came by on short notice to re-key some locks and install a deadbolt. He was fast, clean, friendly, and informative.
I am of an inquisitive nature, and Eddie was happy to explain to me his process as he worked, as well as which dead bolts are better than others and why, etc etc.
Thanks Eddie and Yelp!
I had a great experience with Kamand. I needed all the locks replaced at my new house and expected it to take forever and cost a lot. In less than an hour, and on the same day as my call, he had re-keyed all of the locks and made me 15 keys for a reasonable price. I'm always a little apprehensive about people coming over to the house to do work when I'm home alone, and I couldn't believe how polite and friendly he was, not to mention focused on the quality of his work. Don't think twice about going with these guys!

My door lock was VERY poorly installed, leading me to fears of waking up to men with stockings over their face leaning over me in the night. Also, I got into the habit of saying goodbye to my possessions every time I left the apartment - "bye Ipod, nice knowing you - you too, grandmother's ring!"
My landlord didn't seem too concerned about it, so I called Eddie, who was very friendly and came over at the exact time I specified. It made me laugh when he said, "who installed this thing? an accountant?!" He had to re-do everything, but he was very quick. Also, my friend let him in, so he had to wait around for awhile before I got back to pay him. Whoops. Despite my poorly planned late arrival, he was very professional and didn't seem at all annoyed that he had to wait for me. Overall, it was a very good experience.

You know you're having a bad day when you wake up in the morning only to find the dog couldn't hold it any longer, traffic almost makes you late for work, and you find out after training an entire staff on how to use the computer there is someone who was on vacation and you have to start from square one. Such is my life and to add to this already raging inferno of bad luck I lock myself out of my apartment.
Amidst all my panicking I was smart enough to call my sister who happened to be near a computer and acted like my own personal 411 operator (bless her!). She found Kamand by doing a google search and I promptly called them. Eddie answered and was completely positive and joyful on the phone while I gave him my sob story. He asked me a few questions about the lock, where I was, and then was able to quote me $95 which is way less than what I was expecting for an SF locksmith. He also added that if I paid cash he'd knock off $5 which makes it worth it to go down to the ATM.
I unfortunately didn't have to use his services after all because hubby was able to let me in (tail between legs). I called him back promptly and let him know he didn't need to come but I did add that if I ever get in a jam, he'll be the first person I call. I'm a man of my word.

Fast friendly service, told me what was worth spending on for home security and what wasn't.
I called Kamand because of their Yelp reviews, and they more than lived up to the hype. On time, courteous, helpful, and friendly (we're just a brave, clean and reverent from having us a Boy Scout pledge here, folks), Eddie took care of everything I needed him to do, for a very reasonable price.

I lost all of my keys. It's because i had a one night stand. God is punishing me for my poor life decisions. If I make one more passive aggressive comment or illegal u-turn, a piano is gonna fall on my head or some shit.
Anyway, when you lose your keys and your good for nothing friends can't find their copies, you need to be calling Kamand. Eddie came out right away, assessed my situation, gave me an honest estimate and then made my keys. It helped make a crappy situation a little bit better and didn't make me go broke. Eddie was professional, fast and has a winning smile. Seriously, the dude has a great smile...I'm gonna be calling him for a Orthodontist recommendation, screw Yelp!
Now, I'm off to do something stupid so that my anti-Karma points are on track for the day. Who wants to come over so I can push you into traffic? I'm feeling lucky!

Called him this morning and he came right away to change the locks and give us new keys. He's fabulous. We will call on him again if needed.
Update 3/3/08
Had to change the locks at work again. Same awesome service. They rock!
I was looking for a locksmith, so I chose the most popular on Yelp. I set up an appointment for Saturday at noon at my new place. Come Saturday, I went over there (hadn't moved in yet) to meet the fellow and I waited for 2 hours. No show. Waste of time, sitting in an empty apartment.
I considered calling it quits and reporting the story on Yelp with one star, because how much of a loser are you when you get stood up by your locksmith? But then I thought, "Nope, I'm not going to be one of those bitchy Yelpers that trashes a place based on what might have amounted to just a bad day or a miscommunication on the part of one employee." So, I called him back that night and explained how I was dissed.
"Oh Shit!" he said. He said he told the other guy (Paul, i think?) to meet me there. He apologized and I said that "I will personally take care of your next appointment. I will meet you there." I asked if we could reschedule for the next weekend at 4:00, knowing that I'd be finshed moving that day by 4:00. He agreed to change the locks at 4PM.
So at noon (the time of the original appointment) on the day of the new appointment he calls and tells me that he's waiting at my new house. I explain that our arrangements are for later that afternoon at 4PM and he must have confused the noon appointment with the previous appointment that he missed. He didn't accept that the scheduling confusion was a mistake on his part and said "there was NO WAY I would schedule it for 4:00." And he tells me that I'm wrong, etc. So I explain to him, "I am moving out of my old place right now and into the new place at 3:00, so there' s no way I told you to meet me at noon at the new place today." Whatever.
Long story short, he agrees to come over later, shows up at 4:00, and did a fine job at a okay price (though, $30 to change a mailbox key seems like a lot), but with no discount whatsoever for the mixup or miscommunication or the second chance.
I am giving this service 2 stars because it was too complicated during a time that was already hectic. Perhaps the nature of the business is not to make appointments and to respond to emergencies? I'm not sure, but it's not worth repeating.
