Lonni gives the best Brazilian in the city. She doesn't make me bumpy and red, she's fast and as pain free as your gonna get.
Plus, when you go to her it's kinda like having a beer with a friend - except instead of a beer, you're having your crotch waxed. Yeah, it's kinda like that.

This is my backup brazilian waxing place! My regular waxer is on sabbatical so I found Lonni via (none other) Yelp reviews. She's a true NYer, get in-get out and get the job done RIGHT. Very quick and she took me in early and I MADE SURE to come in early.
She's very reasonable, keeps my na-na na-na (think of Foxy Brown's ILL NANA SONG) look pretty...*giggling* and she waxes your booty hole too *wink*
Guys who don't want to seem pervy, move on from reading this review unless you're looking to get a Manzilian. Ladies, read on.
My threshold for pain is pretty high, so to me, a Brazilian is a breeze. Lonni is super fast, but very thorough, and before I knew it, my 'nani was hair free. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Easy, free parking in Potrero too, so I was back in the office within 30 minutes -- so efficient!
Cash or check only, and her rates are really reasonable. I've found my Brazilianista!

Lonni rules! After two years of searching, I finally found someone in SF who knows how to do a proper brazilian wax. My punani was starting to look scary.
Lonni is super fast and she chats you up so you forget you're getting waxed and not just hanging out with a girlfriend. And it's easy to park and she has these adorable t-shirts.
Plus the name of her business is Lonni's Punani. Enough said!
Really, Really? It took me a while to write this but it was just a bad, very bad brazilian. Maybe I was the unlucky few but, let me count the things that went wrong.
1) Bruised. YES, you read that right I had a huge purple bruise on my punani just in time for my trip to the Caribbean.
2) DIRTY! NO GLOVES and I can't believe no one has mentioned this before but she actually used her bare hand to do my whole brazilian..I just cringe when I think about it. Also she led me into a room someone had just left and had me lie on a dirty, stained towel with just a small piece of paper for under my butt!!
3) Crooked. I know it's difficult when your upside down but I actually got up, looked, had her fix my landing strip and still wound up being "uneven"
4) Results...disappointing. I guess some of this could be forgiven but I actually had hair sprout up a few days later and just knew most of it was broken off. I went on my trip a week later and actually had to SHAVE, such a tragedy and what a waste of a wax.
I have had many brazilians(including once at a beauty school) and this is by far the worst so all I have to say is Lonni stay away from my Punani!

I love Lonni. I have been to her for eyebrows often, plus tint as I'm very fair- in fact Lonni was the first one to mention that a little tint on my eyebrows could go a long way... and i love it love it love it. Today she did my bikini - fast, professional, and simply charming.

I got a Brazilian wax today for the first time EVER! I told her that I was so nervous I couldn't eat or function at work! Lonni, is sweet, fast and thorough...I'm not that hairy anyway but I've always wanted it done. I got it and I love it. I went on my lunch break and made it back all in 40 minutes and I don't work in Portreo Hill I work near City Hall. I totally recommend her; she is professional and I love the area, the parking was fine and the shop was cute and clean. I will only go to her, she's a keeper.
Called and got an appointment within 3 days. I always wait till the last minute to make an appointment because I have trouble committing to things early on. She quoted $50 bucks for a Brazilian and asked if i found her on Yelp. Look for the two red chairs.
I called again and confirmed it was $50 and not $60 (for first timers), but she called back and said $50.
I get to my appointment and she says well it's going to be $60 today, but after that it's $50. I got worried because I wrote a check at home already (I don't carry checks with me normally). I hesitantly mentioned that I called and confirmed the cost and she said it would be $50 because it was not my first time. She said first time doesn't mean first wax ever, it means anything after five weeks growth. Oh. I didn't know that. I guess I'm used to my other waxers prices in the East Bay and Los Angeles who charge the same price for everyone and they cost less. I was behind on my waxes due to an insane schedule. Lonni ended up giving me the wax at the quoted price $50, but I felt that kind of put a downer on the rest of the minutes spent there.
So yeah, the wax was a great wax. Quick, clean, very similar speed technique to my Southern Cal woman (The Queen Bee) in West LA. I like the speed factor. That part is very much appreciated. Location is also great because it's a five minute drive or a ten minute walk from my house.
I feel bad about this, but I'm going to be honest and keep up with writing real honest reviews. I was feeling pretty unsure about Lonni because I felt bad that I had prewritten a check for the lower cost including tip added to it (even though I confirmed the cost twice before the appointment). I felt she wasn't too friendly with me because of this miscommunication. I left feeling unsure that I would want to see her again because I can't see someone who I don't think would want to see me again and there is a lot of hesitation.
PLEASE NOTE: I am not hating on Lonni or the business. I do want to go back because I think she does a great job. I just don't like the extra ten bucks for over five weeks growth. Sometimes I wait four, sometimes five, sometimes three and sometimes six. It really depends on how much I've grown.
What's more important?
The quality of the wax job or feeling comfortable with the woman waxing those hidden areas that I only want one other person to see. Would love your feedback.
So yeah, I'm not sure what I'll be doing next. I may go back to Lucia's even though it's a bit far since my friend wants to try out hard wax anyway. I'm just a bit torn about this situation.

I couldn't believe Lonni received 5 stars for waxing. To be more specific...BIKINI WAXING. Who gets five stars on that? It's a painful procedure and there's no way around that...so...my curiosity got the best of me and I checked her out.
First, her prices are super reasonable....$50 for a Brazilian? Sweet! That's some extra moo-lah for my fro-yo addiction.
So I walk in to her charming hair salon/waxing room on a Saturday afternoon...say around 2:35. I walked out hairless and in awe...say around 2:45.
And that includes the time to undress, clean up, get dressed again and to pay her.
Can I saw "wow"! She is super duper fast...talks through the whole time so you're trying to answer her (to be polite) and not scream when she yanks the strip off your most sensitive areas ...and before you know it...tah dah! All done...no hair...so pretty and so clean. hehe...
Ok, she deserves those 5 stars...she is my wonder waxer...and her motto?
"Keeping San Francisco smooth, one pussy at a time" ...haha love that NY attitude.

I know most of you are probably wondering why I'm giving this place 2 stars as opposed to 5 stars like the rest of the folks on here...
Well, here's my experience.
I had called and no one picked up so I left a message. Lonni called me back a few moments later and we talked. I told her my situation, we made an appointment and then asked her how much it would be. She asked me how long it had been since my last wax and I said 4 to 5 weeks. She then told me $50 dollars. So I figured: Cool, only 5 bucks more than the place I normally go to. (By the way, the last place I waxed was in Paris and they left ingrowns and what not..) She also made it clear that she runs on a timely schedule. So anyway, on the day of my appointment I was 6 minutes late because I had the hardest time finding the place and parking. So I finally get there and she's working on someone else. I apologized for being late and so forth. She then tells me to get wiped up in the bathroom and that she would take me since the lady she was waxing at the time was her next appointment and that she had showed up early. Which I thanked her for.
So now we're in the waxing room at I tell her of these two ingrowns that are a little more sensitive and that I have very sensitive skin. She starts putting wax on me and to my surprise she was spreading it all over my left side. I guess I was shocked because the place I usually go to does little by little so it won't hurt as much, and so that instead of the rip breaking the hairs, it will pull each hair from their roots. So she places the cloth on the wax and rips off a good 3 by 3 inch area of hair... can I say OUCH?!? She folds the cloth over and takes the bottom half of the left side.. again, it hurt more than I had ever experienced before. She finishes my front side in about 5 sections and then moves to my butt, which she did in 2 sections. She then put on this lotion/gel stuff just on the top part of my crotch only.
When she was done, which I will admit was in 10 minutes, she told me it was $60 dollars. I was a little startled to hear this as she had told me $50 dollars on the phone. But because I was late for the appointment I didn't make a big deal. I also bought this stuff called Tend Skin from her for $20 dollars.
Usually when I get a brazilian wax, I stay completely hairless for at least 5 days. However, that evening when I was showering, I felt with my finger tips little stubbles here and there. After getting out of the shower, I inspected and noticed that in more than 5 areas, it looked and felt like I had shaven my crotch about 2 days ago and new stubs were growing in. My bikini line was also completely irritated and the next morning I woke up to a sore groin and had a rash right along my bikini line. By the way, I usually do have a little redness for a few hours after getting waxed but have never experience a rash nor redness the morning after.
I don't know if this is the way she waxes for everyone but I wasn't too satisfied. First, I'm not too happy about the false advertisement as I read another reviewer had the same encounter with the 10 dollar difference. Second, I specifically told her I had sensitive skin and I feel she wasn't experienced or gentle enough to take that into consideration. Third, I don't think it's professional to hold a somewhat grudge against your customer if s/he is 6 minutes late. I may be analyzing the grudge wrong but I feel as though I was the one trying to keep the conversation going.. where as everyone else seemed to say that she made them feel comfortable..., etc.
Yes, it was the quickest waxing I've ever had opposed to the 25 - 30 minute waxing I usually get. But honestly, I prefer quality over quantity. I don't think I will be returning any time soon.

What can you say about Lonni's Punani, while you don't exactly enjoy the time you spend with her, I mean no matter how awesome she is & she is awesome she's ripping hair out of any area on your body you can think of! She make it as pain-free & enjoyable as possible, she has some great waxing wisdom & saying, you'll be cracking up as she waxes yours! Plus she's supper fast, I've been out in 10 min. Just be sure to book in advance she fills up fast & trust me once you've been waxed by Lonni you're spoiled for all others.
I am a very hairy woman. as such, Lonni is a very important person in my life.
5 years of waxing ALL the hair from my Yonney, and Lonni's was the best. by far.
while I could go on and on and on about Lonni's waxing skills, I shall say only this: there are very few people who can wax that vulnerable and private and sensitive area with such ease. the ten minutes I spend with her just once a month are truly easy. I don't have to use my yoga practice to achieve the right poses. I leave her space amazed that she just ripped every little hair from my nether-regions AND I still LIKE her.
Lonni is fast. her space is clean. she is thorough. she is funny and cool and friendly. there's ample street parking. She is popular [for obvious reasons] so call ahead. I promise, you won't be disappointed. :)

Lonni is an absolutely lovely person and an expert waxer! I have to admit, I have zero tolerance for pain. Bee stings make me cry, getting shots at the doctor makes me cry (or faint, take your pick), but Lonni makes hair getting ripped out of my body an unbelievably fast and surprisingly non-painful experience. She's so nice it's like you're just hanging out with one of your good friends for a few minutes.
Is it weird that I'm getting anxious about the fact that I won't get to come see her on a regular basis since I'm moving back to NY next week? Hmmm. She's such a fantastic waxer, I could envision myself flying cross-country just for my monthly appointment.
Seriously, if you're looking for a new waxer, get an appointment with Lonni, she consistently does a great job and will not disappoint!

Lonni is amazing. She made me feel comfortable because i know how painful waxing can be. I had hair all over my body since my latter stage of puberty at age 16. I am 37 now , a man , and within minutes i was in touch with my femine side. I loved the lotion she applied after the treatment. Her prices are reasonable. I loved how i felt afterwards and she even called me the next day to check up on me becuase i was really scared. I never met anyone who loves what they do as much as lonni as well as how much she cares. I wouldnt go anywhere else from now on . Thanks lonni, and i hope to see you soon.

Lonni is the perfect person to turn to when you need to be primped and proper for yourself and all occasions. She does a quick and painless job, and she completely understands that even though this is bikini wax #114, you still do not want to have your legs up in the air while someone tells you the ins and outs about their family life for ten minutes. You are in and out within 10 minutes. It's always a perfect job. And yet you still get a chance to have a friendly little meeting with a fabulous lady. Best of all, she's a savvy NYC transplant. Can't get much better than than!

Believe the hype -- Lonni kicks ass. Fast, not all that pain full and she uses this great shiny DISCO wax for sensitive skin.

Since I moved to SF I never have really found my lady du wax -- until now!
I found Lonni thanks to Yelp. I'm new to the area and am starting over with all of my services. And let me tell you, waxing isn't something us girls mess around with. So when I saw all the positives on Yelp I knew she was the one to try.
And all of you were right!
Lonni is SUPER fast. My old waxer in DC was fast too, but Lonnie is even quicker. Pretty painless and very thorough and even (necessity!). Parking was actually easy and I think her price is good too. My tiiiiiny complaint was because she is so fast I was still sticky and waxy in some places, it wasn't completely cleaned up afterwards. Also, if you are sensitive (like I am) bring lotion or ask for it afterwards. I was surprised there was no after treatment.
I like Lonnie, so the new girl has officially found her waxer.
UPDATE 5/29/08:
Lonni called me after she saw my Yelp review. She saw my tiny complaint and wanted to clear it up. It's obvious she cares very much about her service and her customers. I was mistaken, she does have an after treatment - a Lavender Oil. My bad, guess all the ripping made me not 100& coherent.

I LOVE, love, love this girl!! Not only is she funny and an absolute sweetheart... she was quick and the waxing was virtually painless. The whole thing took about 15 minutes and thanks to the magic blue liquid I purchased on my way out I have no bumps or redness. The salon is clean and Lonni is funky cool. I am considering a pit waxing on my next visit! I highly recommend Miss Lonni for your waxing needs!

So, my friends have been telling me, "get your vagina waxed! Trust us! It doesn't hurt as much as you think, as long as you find a good waxer."
"So where do I go," I replied. They all talked about women in the East Bay. Fine, but I don't live in the east bay. I like to stay local, so I Yelped and found Lonni. After about a month of talking myself into it I called her. I got an appointment but as we got closer and closer to the date, I started getting nervous. "It is going to really hurt, worse than a tattoo," I would say to myself while at work.
Friday came and it was finally my time. I met Lonni and she was comforting, saying that it would be fine. She didn't make me feel me silly for being nervous; she talked about how experienced she was and how it would be over pretty quickly. She reminded me what my vagina was built for and how it can take pain.
Boy, was she right! Zip, zip, zip she was now finish! Some places hurt more than others, but overall, I walked out of there feeling more confident and great that I had done my first Brazilian wax. Lonni was great to talk to and so professional. She answered all my questions and I was ready for action in a few hours. A week later, when I'm home by myself, I like to feel how smooth I feel. I love it and I think my boyfriend does too. ;)
I highly recommend Lonni for your Punani. Seriously, you will be glad you did.

I was so impressed with Lonni's new salon set-up. I felt completely at ease and received the quality service I've known her to give (for the 5+ years I've known her!). I got my lashes tinted for the first time and was completely sold! I felt like a new woman walking down the street with my beautifully sculpted brows and vampy eyes. I don't even need to wear mascara (although I find a bright aqua to be a wonderful compliment to the deep violet tint she applies to my light lashes).

I just moved to SF and am getting married in a few days, so I decided that now would be a good time to get everything south of the border waxed, just in time for our honeymoon in Mexico. So thanks, yelpers, for turning me on to Lonnie, because she is awesome, and chances are I never would've heard of her without Yelp!
Like Lonni, I'm from New York, like things done quickly and efficiently, and do not suffer fools. So BE ON TIME for your appointment, because when it's only 15 minutes long, which is her standard for a brazilian, 6 minutes late means you've already missed almost half the appt, right? The whole point of going to Lonni is that it's over QUICK, and believe me, you'll be grateful for that.
I will admit I'm a wuss when it comes to pain and I've only ever had a brazilian once before (NOT a good experience). So for newbies, let me offer some comforting words: although there will be moments when you feel like maybe you want to die, with Lonni's technique they are over so quickly that you can just pretend they never happened. So don't worry about needing to get drunk or sniff glue or whatever freaky thing you were planning on doing before your appt to ease your mind; it's not like you're getting a tattoo, people! If you have sensitive skin, I do highly recommend popping a few benadryls or your antihistamine of choice, though, plus a couple Tylenol about a half hour before your appt. It worked for me.
Lonni and I chatted (I would not describe her as warm and fuzzy, but I do think she's fun to talk to), and one thing that came up is how Yelp can be a security blanket for passive-aggressive a**holes. You know - like when you seem to be all fine with the service she provided, but then go home and write a nasty review? That is a dick move, people. If you don't like the service you received, then be a big grownup and TELL HER IN PERSON so she can try to make it right. If that's still a little too much for you shrinking violets to handle, then at least CALL HER and discuss it like a real human being. Lonni is a one-woman show and she reads all her reviews, so think about whether you'd be comfortable saying all your bitchy little comments to her face, before hiding behind the anonymity of the internet. Or didn't your momma teach you manners?
One last thing: if you're happy with your service, please be generous with your tip. A standard tip for good service is 15-20%. This woman just waxed your delicate little ladyparts, right? If she did a good job, a decent tip is the least you can do to show her some respect. As part of my "aren't California people so weird" discussion with Lonni, which of course is standard fare whenever two East Coasters meet, I asked her whether she'd noticed that SF folks seem to tip a lot less and less often, in general, than NYers. This was w/r/t services like haircuts and pedicures, which I've been doing a lot of during my Bridezilla phase. She said she'd also really noticed that, and remarked off-handedly that I wouldn't believe how many people don't tip her at all, even though she just waxed their hairy ass for them (it might seem like she was fishing for a good tip here, but that wasn't my sense at all during the conversation - she was just stating a fact off the cuff). People, are you really not tipping the woman who just waxed your a**hole?! Outrageous! If you're going to spend your money on the service, then fer crissakes, save a little for the tip.
Overall, I would recommend Lonni very highly and am grateful she is here to make something that is inherently very stressful and painful, just a little bit easier and a whole lot faster. Thanks so much, Lonni!!

I have never been waxed so quickly, nor so thoroughly in my life.
Lonni might be five feet tall in heels, and probably weighs 95 pounds when she's fully clothed and soaking wet. I am six foot four and let's just say I'm not skinny. I went to Lonni for a full leg and manzillian, and when I saw her tiny ass I thought, "This is going to be interesting."
She had me stripped down, spread eagle, and hairless before I even realized we had started. I shit you not, Lonni can do both full legs in the time it takes most waxers to do one half leg. And we are talking CLEAN. Such a meticulous job I'm still in awe.
Let's face it, no one LIKES having the hair ripped off their balls, but she did it so fast I didn't even have time to cry 'uncle'.
From now on, Lonni is the only girl for me.

Came across this place while browsing through Yelp. Was intrigued by the awesome name and had a good chuckle. Of course, I immediately emailed my GFs and told them that this would be our next girl-bonding event. No takers.
I haven't tried her, from what I hear, amazing brazilian job. I actually came in for a brow and lash tint, since it was something I always wanted to try. She advised me not to even get a lash tint because the results probably wouldn't be as good or even noticeable (mine are already dark, but I wanted them darker). She was very professional and easy going. She even advised me when I had questions about getting a brazilian. She knows her stuff and is a perfectionist, which I appreciate. She even touched up my recent eyebrow wax job, from another place I go to because it just didn't look right to her. Again, much appreciated. The brow tint wasn't as dark (as she'd like it) so she only charged me $10bucks. However, I noticed a difference. Will see how long this tint lasts, but I'll definitely be back soooon for what she's best at, especially after putting my mind at ease about the whole idea of it :)
Tip: Do make appointments in advance because she gets super booked.
Your punani is in good hands with Lonni. All I can say is: she knows what she is doing, and when it comes to your punani, you need someone who knows what's up. AND, she's super sweet. I'm Latina, and I'm super private, and she made me feel comfortable being naked from the waste down. Nothing phases her. She's the bomb. All I have to say, I'm going back to her, and I think you should too. :)
She's fast and friendly. She's thorough with her technique. She was on time. She has reasonable prices. She's so petite and tiny!

I think this sums it up nicely: I wish it took her longer to do a Brazilian wax just so we could keep hanging out. Yes, you heard me correctly. I'd like to lie there, spread eagled having hair ripped from my nether regions just to keep hanging out w/ Lonni. In addition to being an insanely talented waxer, she is just one of the coolest people I've ever met: sweet, totally no-nonsense, and tells-it-like-it-is. I didn't know it was humanly possible to wax someone so quickly and effectively - least painful wax I've had hands down. But wait - it gets better: zero irritation or ingrown hairs. Hallelujah!
Lonni's business is located within a cute salon called "Hair Help" - parking in the area is ample and FREEEEE. It's also easy to reach her to get appointments - if you miss her, just leave a voicemail and she'll call you back pronto.

Seriously, once you go to her you will never want to go back. She does a wonderful job and she's quick too. Very accomodating with scheduling. She's just a cool girl overall, very funny and down to earth.
And you'll never forget her famous line:
'if you mow the lawn, someone will come play on it'

Lonni is so quick and efficient, I've never been waxed in less time! It always comes out looking clean and neat, love it! Also - somehow I've been able to go a full week longer between waxes than with any other aestetician!
...because of how quick she is, if you are a particularly "sensitive" individual I wouldn't see her - you'll end up being uncomfortable. But she works great for me and plenty of others!
