Neighborhood: SOMAIt's been 13 years since I last had a puppy. My loyal buddy, Grendel was a sweet, super pleaser who was only difficult when he went through the teething phase. He was paper trained in a weekend and learned to fetch and bring back in a matter of hours. He was an absolute joy as a pup. At least that's how I remember it.
Enter Marlo, our baby Westie girl. She is the total opposite of Gren. She's small, white, fluffy, and full of piss and vinegar. First thing she does when she gets up in the morning is try to bite my nose or my husband's. She relieves herself wherever she likes after she's just been outside for 20 minutes. She fetches inconsistently and never comes back. She eats the shoes of our house guests. She nips at her poor brother's heels constantly until he blast barks her.
BUT she's getting better. And it's all because of Aishe at SF Puppy Prep. We signed up for Puppy Kindergarten before we even had the puppy. I just knew we'd need help. When we finally got Marlo home and class was still a couple weeks away, we booked a private consult with Aishe at our house.
Aishe is a total "puppy whisperer" and awesome with people too. That is so rare in my experience. She is really patient with all my questions (I tend to read a lot of puppy guidance books with differing views and then take the opposing views to Aishe to help me deduce the answer). And she's also really respectful and understanding when it comes to helping you sort through the ambivalence of puppy parenting. Sometimes you just can't imagine how you lived without this adorable ball of fluff and other times you want to rehome her. Aishe supports you through this and helps you with real, manageable solutions.
My favorite tip by far was the method for teaching our personal Tasmanian devil to "settle." Some books, Cesar Millan, and even our vet said we should do teach Marlo to settle by doing what's called an "alpha rollover." If you've watched the Dog Whisperer, you've seen it. You force a dog down on his side, hold him down, and stare into his eyes until he stops struggling. Supposedly this is necessary to show your dog who's the boss. But it can be done with kindness and firmness. See my photo for the method that works for us.
We haven't hit the Yappy Hours yet, but definitely plan to soon! Lucky for us our new baby is a "little" so she can go to the small dog group even when she's all grown up.

Everyone loves our little Hiroki! She's very well socialized, loving, follows directions 95% of the time, and everyone I know wants to take her home, even my Mom - who by the way said she never wanted another dog again.
Hiro graduated with Honors! :)
So, my husband and I are proud puppy parents and feel that we know how to good responsible owners all because of Stephanie and her staff members! We love them and believe they are the best in city!

It takes a lot to get me to write a review these days but SF Puppy Prep's wonderful service has compelled me to finally get in front of this PC.
I have to say... as a new proud puppy co-owner, life is bittersweet. The frolicking, unconditional love and hilarious first-time experiences far out-weigh the stress of finding something for your pup to do all day while you bring home the bacon. You want to be a part of their development but can't be there every moment of every day : ( There are good alternatives but it can be extremely stressful when you find out all dog-walkers and day-care providers need the full range of shots and the pup is left high and dry.
SF Puppy Prep was our saving grace. Not only are they amazing with their insight and suggestions as to making this new life with a pup a smooth transition, they realize what a puppy needs: interaction, guidance and supervision.
I witnessed all of this after the bf, the new pup and I attended a happy hour social. Steph showed us that all of these elements are key in the pups development and I really appreciated the close eye she kept on Seamus (the pup) and the distance she left so that he could figure things out on his own.
The kicker was the unexpected surprise we found after his first day! Of course, I called and emailed like a maniac worried mom on a kid's first day of school. They responded quickly to all of my concerns AND left us a typed letter highlighting the milestones that day and photos of him interacting with other pups. It was SUCH a pleasant surprise (they will adorn our fridge forever)!
All in all, he comes home healthy, happy and hangerin' for more! What more can a proud parent hope for???
I called and emailed this place like six times and they never responded. When I finally did get an email they offered me a date and when I called to confirm, they didn't respond. WTF?
If you want to learn how to lure your dog with a treat in his face, then this is fine. If you want to train your dog to respond to commands, get a personal trainer or go to a place where they have professional trainers who understand dog behavior and can take you to the critical next steps of training. Most people taking the SPCA classes end up having to take other classes or hire private trainers later to get their dogs actually TRAINED.
WE have a new puppy ( our puppy 3 month old) and we found this place on Yelp( thank you Yelpers), so far we are very happy ( and our Cocco too), we sign up for there 7 weeks training course. Staff are very frendly, caring. I recommend this place highly!

It amazes me that someone would post a one star review for this AMAZING business when they dont even sound like they actually took classes there.
Yes its true dogs can be trained many different ways but do you want a dog responding to you out of love or out of fear??
We used SF Puppy Prep initially for its puppy daycare program and then we took their training classes. Not only were the classes extremely effective but they were so much fun for our family and something we looked forward to each week.
After going thru SF Puppy Prep's classes and knowing many others who have had the same excellent experience - I can only say that people needing to take 'other' classes to get their dog 'actually trained' might need to consider who it really is that failed??
We love Steph and Aishe and their whole staff so much and as it has been so good are now considering adding another new family member.
This is an awesome school and the teachers are excellent. We recommend it to anyone who is even remotely thinking of getting the puppy. Save your money and be ready to enroll in kindergarten and Jr. High classes - could be one of THE best investment you'll ever make for your new puppy !
SUPER SUPER SUPER!
You can't find a better trainer than Aishe! She's got a lot of energy and is VERY happy to help you with your furry friend.

Please do not be fooled by my insanely cute dog (go ahead, look at his picture and you will see that he is really quite cute). Behind that adorable face lies the heart of a monster ... a jumping, nipping, peeing on the furniture monster. Or at least he was until Puppy Kindergarten, where Aishe helped me learn to tame the savage beast that lives in my house.
Okay, so he still jumps and he's still pulls on his leash when I take him for walks. But now Steve (my mini monster/puppy) actually LISTENS to me when I give him commands. I cannot recommend Puppy Kindergarten enough. A fun, high energy class with lots of praise for the dogs AND owners. Really the class is teaching the owner how to be the best puppy parent he/she can be. Steve is much better behaved than he was on the first day of class and he is improving everyday.
I cannot wait until Puppy Jr. High where I will learn more tips to make my sometimes naughty dog a true gentleman (and one who won't jump all over you when you meet him on the street).

When I adopted my 4month old rescue pup, I was at a loss on how to deal with all of the puppy issues as well as all of the rescue dog issues. I found SF Puppy Prep and they have become my touchstone for sanity in the raising of my little guy (who is now almost 2). Puppy Prep puppy school taught my puppy and I all of the puppy basics. My dog is VERY nervous and shy, and the teachers adapted their classes and day care to work with my shy guy and make it feel safe for him. We then went to puppy junior high and continued to work on recall, stay, heal and leave it. Both classes were fun, interesting and provided skill training that we use every day. I also enrolled my dog in puppy day care. What a relief that was - they came and picked up my pup and played with him all day. It provided him socialization and training that it is hard to give your dog when you work. I had a lot of concern about my dog and his shyness, Aishe and Steph (and the other staff) were always available for consultation and pep talks. Without their gentle and informed guidance, I may have decided that I could not handle the urban raising of this shy guy. They helped me find a dog-walker (play-it-again-sam) that was going to be able to handle my dogs shy behavior, and have continued to help me when new behavior issues have come up. SF PUPPY PREP rocks! I am a struggling single mom who does not have a lot of money to spare, but I decided that my dog will be with me for years and it was worth an up-front investment to get us started on the right foot. You get much more than just a class, or puppy day care with puppy prep - you get a doggy community to help you raise your furry friend.
Our Goldendoodle puppy, Pebbles, has LOVED his good times at SF Puppy Prep. He has greatly improved his socializing behavior with other dogs on our three daily walks. I couldn't be happier with the excellent communications from Steph and Aishe, and the professionalism of the staff like Athena and Jen. Both Pebbles and I give SF Puppy Prep 5 stars!

This place is excellent to bring your dog(s) here and have them do playgroups! You pay a fee and for an hour the owners can enjoy wine/snacks while their precious little doggies play together. They also have a big dog play group as well...so check out their schedule! My dog loves this place!
People often comment on how well mannered Taffy is with other dogs and each time I give credit to SF Puppy Prep's puppy happy hours. When Taffy first arrived at Puppy Prep as a 9 week old puppy she cowered in the corner under a chair and only came out to pee a bit.
This was very difficult for me as I wanted her to be the center of attention and the life of the party. I was also afraid that she would grow up to be very submissive and get picked on all the time by other dogs. And let's face it, when your named Taffy the bad-ass cards are kinda already stacked against you.
By Taffy's third week here she was so much more confident and her socialization really began. We went every week until she "graduated out" at 6 months old.
I tell every person I meet with a new puppy about SF Puppy Prep. Bring your puppy here, you are doing both of you a huge favor.

What a godsend for new pups and their humans!
Our pup started out shy and reluctant, but after two weeks, was upstairs playing with the "big pups." Her socialization, confidence, manners and play habits are amazingly developed. Enough so, that she does not hesitate to engage adult dogs of all sizes and breeds at the dog park.
LuLu loves her friends (canine AND human) at SF Puppy Prep and seeing her so eager to get to the door and upstairs makes her mom and dad feel great.
We highly recommend Puppy Prep (daycare) and the happy hours are fun, too. Really cool humans to chat with and lots of puppy love to go around.
One of the best things you can do for your new pup!

Puppy kindergarten is great, Happy hours are great, and the day care services are even greater.
I highly recommend them to any new puppy owner- Chloe has come a long way in the last 7 weeks- and mostly thanks to SFPP.
There is no better place to send your puppy, period.
I am a dog care provider and I try to send every puppy owner that calls me to SF Puppy Prep. Why, you may ask, do you send potential clients to another provider? The answer is simple; SF Puppy Prep is the best place for a puppy.
Steph and Aishe are amazing and they really know their stuff! They are both SF SPCA Certified Trainers and no matter what you may read on Craigslist, they were the first to open a puppy only daycare!
You can always tell an SF Puppy Prep dog - they have great play skills and wonderful manners for their age.
Really there should be more stars for businesses like SF Puppy Prep!

Have you heard of Finnegan? If not, he's taken over my profile picture for a short time so you can. He's our little wheaten terrier. Soft, cute, loves to play, run, sniff, and eat treats. He falls down into play mode with almost every dog he sees. Then he just wags his tail and runs. Why is he always so happy to meet new people and new dog pals? Because of SF Puppy Prep. Seriously.
As new puppy parents, both daddies were about to lose their minds. We had this little ball of fur that was so darn cute, but what were we supposed to do with him? Crying, peeing, not listening? If he wasn't so cute, he'd be back on bus to Sacramento.
We signed up with SF Puppy Prep for both Play and Train (Daycare) and Puppy Kindergarten (training). Wow! Who knew that keeping a puppy busy and tired solved so many problems? Who knew that puppy training is all about training the people? Not these two dads, but SF Puppy Prep did.
Before we knew it, Finn was starting to be more relaxed at home. We went down and watched him with Steph and the gang during his playtime, and we could see his personality being developed-- how he interacted with the other puppies, his play personality. He was growing up so fast!
During training, Aishe was so patient with all the new puppy parents. Demonstrating the value of positive reinforcement, teaching basic puppy manners so we could brag proudly to our friends that Finnegan can sit on command.
On top of all of this, they host a puppy happy hour on Friday nights. It's an hour of puppies being puppies. This is a "must do" if you enjoy leaving the house for dinner or a drink on a Friday night-- you don't feel as guilty doing so if you've taken your puppy to Happy Hour first. It's all about managing the guilt.
We've just started taking Puppy Jr. High with Puppy Prep, and I'm sure it's going to be just as valuable.
Without a doubt, SF Puppy Prep made it possible for us to get through our first 5 months with Finn!

When I first took my Rotty pup (Vince) to SF Puppy Prep he was an 8 week old fur-ball, who hung-out underneath a chair and was afraid to walk down the stairs. Thankfully this behavior didn't last for long! Thanks to Aishe and Steph he has blossomed in to a social, well mannered 1 year old, who loves people and other dogs. Aishe and Steph genuienly love dogs, and it shows. I highly recommend the day care, classes and puppy happy hour for anyone who likes their pup to be tired and happy!

The classes: High energy and happy, and if you forget treats or a toy, there always seems to be backup! Aishe was nothing but loving and full of praise for every puppy in Sophie's Puppy Kindergarten class. I recommend them to everyone I run into and can't wait to start Sophie in the Puppy Junior High.
The Puppy Happy Hours: These are a godsend and a great deal. My favorite thing ever to do on a Friday night. I just wish there were more, especially at the Perfect Paws location on 6th - right by my work.
Anyways, once the happy hours are over, we get on Muni and Sophie passes out in my lap she is so exhausted. Any program that has Sophie sleeping for the rest of the night is an absolute godsend.
This review of Sf Puppy Prep's puppy daycare program, NOT their dog classes.
I have my dog, Sonya, enrolled at SFPP's daycare and it's fabulous. They come and pick up your dog somewhere around 11:30 AM, take them for a quick potty walk and then take them to the dog center where you lil' fuzzy gets to play with other puppies under careful supervision. SFPP's trainers will also work on some basic puppy behavior and commands, such as name recognition and rules of polite playing with others. By 2 PM or so, your puppy gets delivered back to your house, happy and tired.
The staff at SFPP are very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They will ask where on your street your pup's favorite peeing place is, volunteer to give them medicine if needed, and give the puppy any treats/food in the afternoon if you lay it out for them. You can tell that Steph and her employees love dogs very much and develop a personal relationship with each puppy.
What's even better, my dog absolutely loves it and my "mommy guilt" is way lower by the time I come home in the evening since Sonya is so tired out that she naps all the way till my return.
Pros: great experience for your dog, attentive and knowledgeable trainers, convenience of not having to drop off your dog at the daycare, flexible schedule (your pup can go to daycare as few as two days a week).
Cons: price. If your dog is enrolled full-time, the cost is going to be over $600 a month. But it's totally worth it if you can afford it.
A few weeks ago I was randomly looking online for doggy daycares and came accross the SF Puppy Prep website. They daycare portion seemed a bit too pricey for us, but I saw that they had "Yappie Hour" for small dogs on Fridays and it seemed really cool.
Our dog, Sharkie, is a Shih Tsu, only a little over a year old, but has the energy of a 3 month old puppy! We took Sharkie to Yappie Hour last week and he totally LOVED it!! He seemed a little tense at first with all the new dogs he was encountering but he got right in there and played with the other dogs. I was so relieved that he wasn't anti-social. Sharkie was so excited to be there that he didn't want to leave. And when we got home, he knocked out!!! Which was great because me and my boyfriend got a chance to go out for dinner without feeling guilty that we were leaving him at home!
Aishe and Steph were wonderful also. They were very welcoming for our first visit and so loving towards Sharkie! The set up was great as well. We were served wine and cheese and other owners even brought home-made snacks as well.
I will definately take Sharkie back to Yappie Hour again and maybe try out some of the training classes they have.

We adopted a puppy from a rescue. She was scared of other dogs and some people. We were desperate to find a good trainer. I found an ad for SF Puppy Prep on Craig's List. And decided to take a chance and drive from Vallejo to SF for a one hour puppy class. It was worth the tolls and gas. Aisha is an incredible trainer!!!! She brought Cocoa out of her shell! We have taken both puppy elementary and puppy jr. high and loved them both. Cocoa is now a well adjusted all be it hyper puppy. We are so grateful for Cocoa's Auntie Aisha!
We highly recommend going even if you have to drive!
Hi. My name is Otto. I am a four month old golden retriever and I would like to take a moment to tell my fellow pups about something that has changed my life forever . . . SF Puppy Prep.
We all remember leaving our mommy at a very early age. Those first few days were tough, right? We were so used to spending time with other dogs and puppies and missed our brothers and sisters so much. We never spent any time alone and then BAAM!!! we come to this new place and are left alone all day!?!?! What happened?!?! Looking back, I barely remember those days (I think I've blocked them out), mostly because I now have SF Puppy Prep.
Don't get me wrong, my new mommy and daddy are great. They talk all the time about how much they love me and sometimes argue about who I love more. It's so silly. I love them both the same! I mean without them, I would never have meet SF Puppy Prep.
So, here's how it works. Mom and dad feed me in the morning, take me outside (and get really excited when I pee - ok, they are a little weird, but I think they mean well), then . . . they just leave. It's ok. Stay with me. So, I don't have much capacity for time but my mom says that I'm only alone for a few hours and then . . . SF PUPPY PREP. Someone comes to my home and picks me up. We take a ride and pick up other puppies and then go to Steph and Aishe's, they are the big-wigs at SF Puppy Prep. We all go inside and run and play and drink and poop and drink and pee and run and run and play and jump and . . . well, you get the point. It's so great! I really need the socializing and it helps me so much to know how to play with other puppies and dogs. That way when I get older, I will know how to play and act around other dogs.
They teach me how to come to my name, to sit, not to jump up on people, and lots of other stuff. Then, we get back in the van and they take us all home. I'm so tired after SF Puppy Prep that I don't bother my parents so much when they come home because I had so much exercise and stimulation.
Oh, and on Friday night, I go to Puppy Happy Hour. I LOVE FRIDAYS because I get to go to SF Puppy Prep twice in one day! This time mom and dad take me and I get to run and play with all kinds of puppies for an hour while mom and dad have snacks and drink wine. It's so much fun to meet new puppies every week and to have mom and dad watch what I've learned and see me play so well with the other puppies.
I am an extremely well-behaved puppy and owe it all to SF Puppy Prep. Sorry mom and dad, but if I had to spend all day alone, I just wouldn't be the same.
So, if you are a puppy and your mom and/or dad really love you, they would introduce you to SF Puppy Prep. Please remember to tell them that Otto sent you. I know for a fact that I'm their favorite!!

SF Puppy Prep is a WINNER!
Ronin, our border collie/aussie shepard mix, loved this place. He was always ecstatic on Saturday mornings to see his pals and to ensure his parents knew how to handle him... and he wasn't the only one excited about heading to puppy prep!
Jennifer, our trainer, was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful during the class - always making sure each puppy received full attention. Jennifer made the class so much better as you could really see that she had an extreme love for animals and a lot of patience with us (the humans/parents) as we were all being trained on how to handle the new additions into our lives as well as how we need to be in their (puppy) lives.
Puppy Kindergarten was too much fun. We learned a lot of the essentials needed to help us appropriately raise Ronin. These training tips helped Gary and myself learn what we need to do in order to raise Ronin in a loving and respectable manner.
Ronin graduated Kindergarten and insisted that we enroll him in Puppy Jr. High. We did. And the lessons and rewards were even better.
I highly recommend this place. It was an experience we truly enjoyed.
We keep hearing about the puppy happy hour, and even though we have yet to go on a Friday, every person we know and have spoken with have always said that the happy hours are a lot of fun, and a good way to get to know other doggie owners and for your pooch to meet new friends as well.
Thank you Aishe, Jennifer, and SF Puppy Prep!!

We took Monkey, our three month old pug to her first puppy happy hour last night at SF Puppy Prep and were really impressed. This place is a doggie heaven.
They keep all the big pups upstairs(labs, boxers, etc.) and small, yet hyper, pups downstairs. We were a little worried when we first arrived because all the "small breeds" were four times the size of our little one. Thankfully, some teeny pups showed up and they had an area sanctioned off for quiet and shy puppies. Monkey spent the entire night in the shy area but still had a lot of fun. It was really nice to meet other small puppy parents, and get a chance to talk about raising them.
We will definitely be going back next Friday for puppy happy hour!

SF Puppy Prep is the place to be if you love your puppy but it's driving you insane at the same time.
We first took our pup to the puppy happy hour on Friday nights from 7:30-8:30 and that alone was very entertaining. Not just for the adorable puppy watching but also for the people watching and the constant look out for a steaming pile just waiting to be stepped on. Don't worry everyone is very responsible for cleaning up after their pooch and they do it in a matter of seconds but once in a while....DAMN!
We also signed up our pup for training and so far so good, she's learning lots. True, our pup is very, very smart but that's another story.
Aishe and Steph are so nice and if you want to socialize your pup this is the best place to do it. It's puppies only too so you don't have to worry about big dogs running a muck or worse passing on parvo to your sweet little doggie who hasn't had all it's shots. They clean everything, everyday, all day.
I'm glad I signed up our pup because she's so much happier and she enjoys meeting other puppies and having fun.

Not just because these ladies are personal friends of ours but because they really are the best in the west folks!
We were recently extra excited about our new addition knowing that we were gonna sign him up to go with this Auntie Steph to school each day! He comes home so tired and clearly well cared for! Thanks again guys!
My name is Cinnamon. I am 6 months old. My human parents adopted me when I was but a wee pup. My puppy parents are a golden retriever and a rottweiller. I live in Noe Valley. When I was 2 months old, my parents arranged for me to attend day care at SF Puppy Prep. It was certainly one of the best decisions they ever made; second only to adopting me!!!!
Every day one of the absolutely wonderful humans who work at Puppy Prep come to my house to pick me up. I am greeted with a treat and a smile and I am soooooo excited. I ride in a comfy van, in a comfy crate to pick up several other dogs. When we get to daycare all of us dogs are taken into a big room where we are let off our leashes and we get to romp and play with each other and lots of fun doggy toys. The puppy prep staff are always available to give us treats, pick up our poop and give us lots of love when we momentarily stop romping!
After several hours of nonstop fun, each of us is brought home. When I come home I eat lunch and crash in my comfy crate for about three hours!!! When my parents come home from work I am glad to see them and feel so relaxed and we are all very happy.
Sometimes I hear my parents talking to the puppy prep staff. My Mom always sounds happy because all of her questions are readily answered. One of the best things for my parents is that the staff are also available to recommend wonderful dog sitters and other resources.
My human family also took me to a puppy kindergarten class at SF Puppy Prep. The teacher was great and we all learned a lot!!!!
I recommend SF Puppy Prep to anyone who has a puppy. Everyone says I am so well socialized!! I love people and dogs and I have a great life! I love my human family and the wonderful extended family of SF Puppy Prep. Also, I met my best dog friend at daycare and several of my best buddies at the park are graduates of SF Puppy Prep.

We also took him to Puppy Kindergarten there as well...it was a great experience! Both Steph and Aishe are so smart and know dogs like nobody's business!
You must socialize your puppy...and what better way to do it than socializing yourself. You'll meet new people and you'll have new friends for both you and your dog! How cool is that!

Can we give SF Puppy Prep TEN STARS???
Aishe, Steph and their crew at SF Puppy Prep are THE BEST!
Getting a puppy is stressful enough (dealing with the chewing, the separation anxiety and the housebreaking!!) but the guilt of leaving a puppy alone at home while we go off to work is a thousand times worse!! This is where Steph & Aishe come in.
SF Puppy Prep picks up the little one from your home and take them off to "daycare" where a bunch of puppies romp around and play. Then, they will drop the pup back off at your home, and will make sure the little one is nice and comfortable, either in their crate or where ever you designate. From time to time, you'll even see progress reports & photos from Aishe and Steph on how your pup is doing at daycare!
I have been fortunate to spend enough time with Aishe and Steph to know that they truly LOVE each and every dog that steps through their doors, and that they take the same care and effort that I would take with my own dogs. We wouldn't trust our babies to just any one and SF Puppy Prep has made our lives infinitely easier.
From taking puppy kindergarten taught by Aishe, to attending happy hour on Fridays for small dogs and puppies, to have our pups attend daycare, they've covered it all -- and they do it all with lots of love, patience, and attention AND they do it extremely, extremely well!
Our "pups", Salty and Foggy, have outgrown their true puppy days, but they still adore "Auntie Steph" and "Auntie Aishe" and they look forward all week to going to happy hour!!
See you Friday at Happy Hour!!

Oakland SPCA deemed my dog JoJo a bad rap dog due to him being part rottwieler. I knew my loving 2 month old puppy had the capacity in him to be a dog-park dog, but wasn't sure on how to go about socializing him safely. After some research on puppy trainers in San Francisco my partner and I found SF Puppy Prep. I have to say they changed our puppy's life! When he graduated it was sad occasion because the days that JoJo went to SF Puppy Prep were his happiest. He would wait by the door everyday for (as we called them) "the puppy ladies" to pick him up. I'm thrilled to say that we now enjoy trips to Buena Vista Park and Fort Funston to socialize with other dogs without fear that JoJo will not know how to play appropriately. We will be forever indebted to SF Puppy Prep for JoJo learning to interact with other dogs in an appropriate and safe way. Thank you puppy ladies! You're incredible!

I am solely basing my review on your lack of customer service/returning phone calls. How rude! The clock is ticking on my puppy's age, and the least you can do is return my phone call and tell me you cant offer us any classes. I understand that your busy and probably have a gazillion of other new puppy parents, but it's been several days and I think you should be caught up with your messages by now. I called San Bruno Obedience school as an alternative and got loads of information from them. However, you act like its no big deal.......................NEXT! The only reason why I still even consider you, is because you are in my vicinity. I would be willing to update/change my review if you'd return my calls with information about when you have classes available for puppies over your 16 week requirement that is on your voice mail/phone number that no one seems to answer!
UPDATE 09/2007: I received a message from Aishe about my review. She apologized about someone not having returned my messages. She sent me an invitation for the happy hour. I haven't done it yet, but I will keep you posted on that upcoming visit. I have raised there rating to two stars. I would like to give you 5 stars like everyone else, but I will determine that when you offer the classes that my poochie can benefit from. I am curious to know what all the 5 star raves are all about.
Total life saver. I got my lab puppy last year during the rainy season. My god, we were both gonna jump out a window! He was going nuts with energy, cause that's what puppies do. I was going nuts because I could only entertain him for so long. Until I found Perfect Paws I would let him run outside around until he was tired he would be SUPER muddy but it did the trick.
I can't remember how I heard about them but the Friday night puppy social was AMAZING!!
He got to run, chase and play with all the other wild doggies. I think it was almost as fun for the owners as it was for them. We also met some great people and great dogs too. Some we still see a year later and it' s like seeing old buddies for them.
Like their motto says A tired dog is a happy dog!

I think our puppy would have been a neurotic mess if it weren't for SF Puppy prep..the service provided a perfect way to get our puppy early socialization and time to burn off the puppy crazies running around with other dogs.
The real reviewer, though, is our puppy XUXA. She gets SOOO excited when they come to pick her up, and when we went to a happy hour at the location, not knowing exactly where it was, Xuxa pulled us with total excitement right to the front door and then sat patiently as if she was waiting for a treat while we confirmed the address!

We wouldn't have survived our pup, Bumper, if it weren't for the puppy happy hours and the prep classes! We would take Bumper to happy hour on fridays followed by kindergarden on saturdays. Friday nights used to be the only nights we could get some sleep because Bumper would be so exhausted from happy hour. It was amazing! $10 for a good night of sleep and puppy socialization is worth every penny.
Jennifer taught Bumper's kindergarten class. She is such a patient and loving trainer. Very knowlegable about dog behaviors and is always willing to help out if we have any issues or questions about our dog. Bumper adores her!
We are definitely believers in SF Puppy Prep. A tired pup is a well-behaved pup!
My 7 mo. old puppy Huxley is crazy for Small Dog Happy Hour on Friday nights. It is such a great venue for him to run and wrestle and go crazy with other dogs in a safe, enclosed environment. He only weighs 7 lbs, so it's nice to know he's not going to get accidentally trampled, etc... by a larger dog. The staff, the dogs, and the owners are all really nice (and what a bargain: $10/dog, with wine and cheese for the owners). I highly recommend it for other small dog owners. P.S. Huxley was definitely intimidated the first time I took him (it's a lot of stimuli) but he really got into it, once he warmed up.
