I am here on business and was craving sushi.  Good food BUT... very pricey and the most disgusting thing happened when I was there!  First sign of a problem should have been that there was only 2 other customers there at 7:15 for dinner, but okay could be a slow night... THEN... the kitchen staff and the 2 sushi chefs were all eating freshly cooked food behind the bar where they prepare food!!  I was sitting at the bar, thank goodness my food was already served or I would have left.  After they were done eating and drinking behind the sushi bar, one of the sushi chef's picks up his used tooth pick from the shelf and starts picking at his teeth BEHIND the bar where they prepare food and in the public's eye.  How unsanitary!!!  Then when he was done with the toothpick he placed it back on the shelf!!  Place is expensive and feels unsanitary due to what I experienced!

The food here is hit or miss.  I love the Omirice here and also the Dooboo Kimchi.  The BBQ is not good at all though and I advise people to stay away from it.  The lunch buffet is decent.  The restaurant gets a point off for their horrible service.  The waitress was ok, but the owner has an attitude and doesn't give you a very good feeling.  The restaurant is decent though if you are in the area.

This Five Guys is close to where I work (shout out the National Center for Health Statistics), so I tried it out.  I'm not a big fan of red meat, so I had the ham and cheese, which was pretty disappointing.  Basically, it appeared to be some sort of cheese and ham concoction cooked in a hamburger bun, rather than on bread.  I did get the mound of fries, so that fed me for about three days.

After an incredibly fascinating walk through the BodyWorlds exhibit at the nearby Maryland Science Center, I was in the mood for some spare ribs so my parents, the girlfriend and I headed down to the Harbor to find a spot to eat.

Despite the 5th of July crowds, we were able to immediately grab a four top right outside, with an unobstructed view of the water and the people walking by.

The pretzels in lieu of the traditional bread were a nice "twist". (*groan*) although a cheddar cheese dip instead of mustard would've rocked my face off. Maybe J Paul's can offer that in the future?

The service was quick and friendly, and my ribs were out in front of me before I could down one of their house amber beers. The ribs themselves were pretty good - tender, and sliding right off the bone, with a fairly tasty sauce. My two dinner sides stole the show though. Smoked gouda mac and cheese was joy in a cup, and the pickled cilantro cucumbers were a surprisingly tasty and refreshing addition for a warm July night.

I tend to write off most restaurants around the Inner Harbor as mediocre tourist traps, but J Paul's has got some quality food to justify it's prime real estate, and to make sure it sticks around long after the crappy restaurants get turned over.

Meh.

In many ways staying at a hotel is a lot like drinking wine. At first they all seem the same but after a while you develop a taste for a specific type or flavor. I hate this animal that I've become.

Two years ago I would have been pumped to stay at a hotel like this because it has a fridge and microwave. But quote Timmy Aces, nevermore.... nevermore...

The walls at this hotel are the thinnest of any hotel I've ever been to. It's rare that I have a problem sleeping as I've become accustomed to ambient sounds. Here you can hear EVERYTHING, and I literally mean everything.

The bedding and linens are what you would expect at a springhill or fairfield and are quite subpar. The water isn't that hot and the porcelain in the tub is cracked. The internet is butt slow and the temperature is either the arctic or sahara.

I would avoid this hotel as everything here stinks. Well, except for me... for once in my life I actually smell manly.

Good to go and split appetizers in a group, but don't expect top quality or healthy food (even though they try to advertise otherwise).  Sit in the bar for some good deals at happy hour (weekday afternoons around 4-7) especially since you don't have to worry about smoking anymore.

Service is quite often slow, though.

This is a pretty sketchy wal-mart.  Occasionally, they've got their act together and everything looks put away, but more often than not it's pretty scary in there.  Items will be misplaced, crowds overwhelm the isles, and salespeople are either unhelpful or invisible.  One time I did have a good experience, as I was unable to find a DVD and someone was willing to help, although this event was completely rare.  They also get some points for installing newer registers which speeds up checkout a bit, however at times it can take forever to escape.  I now rarely bother with it.

The only reason I chose The Buckle as my "comeback" review is because I LOOOOVE shopping, and lately I haven't been able to shop due to a shortage of cizzash in my wallet.  They also have a denim section that would blow your mind...LENGTHS!  GLORIOUS LONG INSEAMS!

That being said, I could go on and on about the fits, the washes, the brands (I'm a denim freak), but I won't bore you.  On top of  hundreds of pairs of jeans piled onto tables and shelves, they sell a wide variety of tees and accessories from all kinds of companies (Jedidiah, English Laundry, Diesel, Miss Me, blah blah blah), and carry a small selection of watches and fragrances in-store.

Oh, let me rave about their delivery for a second....I ordered a pair of their jeans in the store on Wednesday and received them Friday afternoon via UPS STANDARD (we're talking $5 shipping here) delivery.  Should the credit for the speediness just go to UPS?  No, I think there was a bit of BKE blessing sprinkled on that precious package.

So why did they only receive four stars?  A few things are overpriced, thy have a VERY limited selection of casual-dress pieces for women (if any at all), and do I even have to mention the over-zealous employees working hard on commission?
The dudes are good-looking though, I'll give 'em that much.

Shin Chon is translated as Great BBQ. Well, not really. Truth be told, I have no idea what it means. But they sure have great Korean BBQ! Christine P. and I are both Koreans, so trust us: if you live anywhere near Ellicott City, head to Shin Chon. For those that despise Woomi, it's worth the drive if you're tired of heading to Koreandale.

Food - the lure here is dduk bo sam. Some Koreans can give you the whole frikkin history of this dish, as well as provide a dissertation on the subtle differences between Red Mango and Pinkberry, but I cannot. I can tell you however, that it goes like this: they provide sheets of rice paper covered in oil to keep them somewhat separated. You take a piece of meat, freshly grilled at your table, some Koreens (Korean Greens - lettuce, scallions, and sauce), a slice of pickled radish, hot chili sauce, and soy bean paste and wrap  all of them in a piece of rice paper, consume, and repeat (see pic). It is uber/numoo/muy/tres/mak/totemo delish! To get your hands on this delightful bounty, you must order the following specials (can serve 3 average people, 2 fat people, and 5 Korean girls):
Brisket + Pork: $34.95
Brisket + Galbi: $44/95
Brisket + Pork + Galbi: $54.95
All of them come w/ egg casserole (VERY good) and a soy bean soup - good if you're used to it. The meat is also cooked on a turtle pan. Again Pinkberry dissertation folks can probably tell you how a turtle is significant to Koreans, but I just thought it was cool being a Terp!

If you're a carnie who has friends who aren't too fond or privy of KBBQ, get new friends. If that's not an option, Shin Chon also has some other good dishes.
Naeng Myun ($11), Dolsot ($11.95, w/ galbi $13.95), soondooboo ($9.95) - not nearly as good as Lighthouse but decent. The spicy monkfish soup - Agu maeuntang ($13.95) was savory! Would definitely hit the spot in the winter. All the soups were very good and the side dishes were plentiful. The table was really crowded though.

Location - Here's your primer for this location: the seating system is very disorganized. This mainly has to do w/ the layout. They have several tables for grilling that seat anywhere from 6-8 (they can add 2 chairs at the ends) and several tables in the interior that seat 4, some w/ vents, some w/out. It all comes down to luck of the draw when finding seating. I came w/ a group of 8 and a group at a large outer table just left, so we were seated right away, while I saw several couples waiting for an interior table - obviously, they won't sit a table of 2-4 at the larger tables. In all, I'd say they could seat about 18 parties MAX. Tip: once you enter the restaurant, look for a lady roaming the restaurant who is not dressed like the others and who goes to the Cashier area frequently- this is the owner. Approach her and let her know you'd like a table - do not wait to be approached or you may wait a while. Once you let her know, do not leave the entrance - it's cramped but fight on! And try to make eye-contact with her as much as you can.

When we came on Saturday, a waitress almost gave a table to another party while I was waiting for them to bus it, but I let her know that we were waiting and that we had a large party and we got the table. The moral of the story: be aggressive for your KBBQ.

Service - The service here is very friendly and attentive - those are relative statements. I speak decent Korean, so I typically get good service, so not sure how you true Korean-Americans will fare. Koreans love American money...errrr, people. I saw a couple dining and they seemed to be having a decent time.

They were remodeling for 3 months and frankly, it wasn't much of an upgrade. Just know that you don't go to a KBBQ place for service or ambiance, you go for the food, and you'll love Shin Chon. Koreandale is getting far too expensive to drive out to for good Korean eats, so Shin Chon is as good as it gets for me!

Negril is ok.... I guess because I grew up in the Caribbean so I don't find it super favorable and I also prefer my food very spicy (my personal preference). But l have to agree with everyone else  its a good deal for the buck. If you want a grab something quick.  I have to admit that visit N every now and then.

Negril probably wins the prize for best value in town when it comes to filling, delicious lunches. I have not experienced the full menu as the other Yelpers have, but look forward to my next visit.

At $3 the chicken jerk sammich is a must-order. Mine was served with a weird poppyseed dressing that I didn't care for, but hell, it was served on the side so i didn't use it. My co-worker got a Jamaican meat patty which was crispy, flaky, and downright sinful. If you're watching your fat intake I don't recommend it, but if you want to make your jump off the diet bandwagon worthwhile, Negril is the best place to do it.

Having moved to Elkridge...I was lookin for some place to hangout...and this place is a god-send.

The beers are amazing. 2 for 4$.
The bartenders ....hot!!!!
The service ....impeccable!!!
The atmosphere....very pub-like!!!

The crowd is a good. There's a shuffleboard which is fun to play. During summer-time (nowadays), they have the outdoor deck open....so u can grab your 2 beer mugs and go out for a smoke.

I love this place!!!!

With a name like "Crisp and Juicy" how can you go wrong? As my co-worker put it, it was a much better choice than "Dry and Rubbery"

The chicken breast sammich here is genius. It's spicy-but-not-too-spicy and comes with a tasty garlicky dipping sauce and enough lettuce to make yourself a little side salad to boot. And, as mentioned by previous Yelpers, it is rotisserie chicken not fried as the name might indicate.

The dining space is fairly small, so carry out if you can. And expect to make many visits, like a crack addict.

been there probably 3 times now...and i wudnt rave abt the service or the decor....but I agree with Nataliya (below) - it's College Park. :)

The food is relli good though...I love all of their chicken dishes....it has a  good veggie menu as well.

Another +ve is that its open till late. We generally go thr after watching bollywood movies @ laurel.

The wait staff is not the friendliest. They keep pestering you up until you order your food and then dont bother to come and checkup if everything is alrite or not.

The food def. deserves the 3 *.

Two scoops is too much

Great dessert after Mark's Kitchen. Incredibly friendly owner, tons of flavors. Some of the ice cream is a little icy but they have butter brickle! You'll heed the haiku if you know what's good for you. My wife and I shared and we still had a hard time.

Yami-Yami is my place to go for some cheap sushi and good bubble tea that's nearby.

The rolls are huge and good, and I also like to eat the chicken bowls. The chicken is sweet, almost borderline sickening sweet, but to me I love chicken and I love sugar! So it works.

The food is prepared pretty quickly but than the bubble tea? Once, I waited 10 minutes for my bubble tea to be made while glancing out the windows to see if any parking meter demons were near my car. I always order the taro on ice with extra lychee jelly and it's amazing. So I have to suffer through the wait, but I guess in the end it's worth it.

I've never been to Wasabi, but I think I'm going to try soon

I've been here a couple times with friends and eh, I don't really like it much. There's always this really sketchy looking man who seats you and serves you food and he is....not mean, but at the same time not nice. I had the pomegranate and rose flavors and they were not very good at all.

The whole place is dark and I'm fine with that, but at the same time it's extremely dirty. The bathroom is a mess and the food's not good at all. It's always quite expensive if they rip you off, which happened to me. So just beware of the sketchy guy and know what you're paying for

Pasta Plus, I give you a big fat minus. You may misconstrue those 2 stars as being of the gold variety, but trust me, they are poopy yellow. I came here last night w/ my family and my brother-in-law and we were all...wait for it...yup, that magical Yelp word that so many reviewers seem to use....yup, you guessed it....underwhelmed. The pizza and calzone were good and I was told the cold cuts are good...but based on their name, I expected more from their pasta.

Location - Let's start w/ the location (see pics). The three signboards collectively make up Pasta Plus - which has a SMALL market area (is it ok to emphasize small by using ALL CAPS?), a SMALL area for carry-out and a dining area. If you looked at it from the outside, you'd think that entire strip were closed and waiting to be boarded up - save for the small OPEN sign behind the tinted glass. Mayn Yelpers note the wait on the weekends - we went on a Monday night at 8p.m. and had no wait for a table for 6. The dining area is cozy...forget it! Let's call it what it is: CRAMPED! We dined in a separate section near the market (maybe b/c we had a stroller) but I checked out the dining area and the tables are pretty close together. They also have this creepy statue of a chef at the entrance. So the exterior is craptacular, unless you like the rundown strip mall look and Arby's, and the interior isn't that much better. Does the food make up for it?

Food - Started w/ the french bread (free) and the calamari ($8.95). The calamari portion was rather small, especially compared w/ Red Sky just down the street, but the batter was crisp and the squid delicious. The tomato sauce it was served w/ however, was salty. The salads were of the iceburg variety - at least throw a couple pieces of romaine in there. The creamy Italian was ok and for the oil & vinegar, they bring out a bottle of balsamic vinegar to go along w/ the olive oil already at your table and you mix it yourself.

We ordered 6 dishes:
Frutti de mare ($21.95) - seafood was very small
Pizza Contadina ($9.95) - pesto + sundried tomatoes = YUM! Olives were SALTY!
Linguine w/ mussels & red sauce - small mussels, a few were rotten
Calzone vesuvio ($9.95) - AMAZING! This sucker is enormous (see pic). The crust was delightfully crisp and the filling was delectable. Ask for the tomato sauce on the side as it makes the calzone soggy as you get through it.
Linguine w/ clam & white sauce ($14.95) - sauce was good
Fettucine alfredo ($11.95) + 2 meatballs ($3) - the sauce was Olive Garden-esque, which is good for an endless pasta bowl, not so good for $12.
Tiramisu ($4.95) - too creamy. Maggiano's is better
Dark chocolate ganoche ($4.95) - not too shabby. The ganoche was good but the cake part was dry.

Overall, the noodles were perfectly al dente and chewy but as you got through the meal they became bloated. Some people may like this place purely based on the noodles, but the sauce & the meats make the dish for me. The tomato sauce is rather bland and not very good. The white sauce is tasty but you could easily make it at home. The seafood was very small - it made the frutti de mare at Waterside look like a world-class dish - and some of it wasn't very fresh. The pizza was almost really good but the olives were gross - and I love olives. The calzone was oddly enough the best dish. Personally, I'd recommend 3 Bros or Mamma Lucia's - their pasta isn't homemade, but their sauces are MUCH better.

Service - Friendly and somewhat attentive.

I would've given this place 3 stars after my first visit based on the pasta alone despite the long wait (went on a Sunday) and the mediocre sauces, but after last night, I think it's a 2-star location based on the sauces, location, and long waits - w/ no reservations. Go on a Monday or Tuesday if you want to try their pasta or like Patrick H. suggested, I'd recommend the pizza.

Probably my favorite sushi place so far. The location is great, right by a lake and the service is fantastic as well. I love how all the waitresses wear the blue kimonos and give me warm towels when I come in.

What I also love about this place is the rolls. The one thing I order every time I come is the scallop roll. It is amazing!!! It isn't on the menu so just ask about the special rolls. So back to the scallop roll, it's in rice paper instead of the usual seaweed and I believe has asparagus on the inside and the best part about it is the special tomato sauce that it comes with. It is to die for!!

The lunch boxes are pretty good too, basically this place is wonderful! Even if it is owned by Chinese people

Cheesesteaks happen to be a favorite food of mine, and I've had a tough time finding a good one outside of Philly.

Then I discovered South Street Steaks.

For a bargain-basement price, you can have what is my favorite cheesesteak in the area.  After three years in College Park and counting, I've lost track of how many times I've eaten at South Street.  These guys do it right: the bread is perfectly soft and tender, the steak is good and tender, and there's never too much Whiz to drown out the meat.  The fries are good and crispy, as well.

If you've been pining for an authentic Philly cheesesteak and not looking to make a trip up I-95, South Street is one of your best bets.

After dining w/ Roy, the island stud the night before, we headed to dine w/ Mark, the Korean hippie the next morning. The surprises continued as this time, my wife's small group from church was there to crash our breakfast. Sweet for her, good for me since I get to Yelp more dishes. :-P

Food - This was the first time we came here for breakfast and though it was good, it wasn't anything impressive. All breakfasts are served w/ your choice of grits/home fries and toast/english mffuin. The wife ordered the smoked salmon breakfast ($8.95) - several slices of lox topped w/ capers and red onions. The other girls ordered the shiitake mushroom omelet and the spinach & spring onion omelet ($6.95). All of these dishes were standard breakfast fare and didn't have the hippie, granola twist that Mark's dishes are usually served with, e.g., granola in the grits, green tea in the eggs, a little hemp on the lox. Based on these foods, I'd give it 3 stars.

Being her BDay celebration, the wife ordered the OJ ($3.25), which she wouldn't have ordered otherwise b/c you can pretty much buy a bunch of oranges for that price. Maybe we're uncultured, but we enjoy our Tropicana Pure Premium w/ Calcium + Vitamin D and its 40g of added sugar more than we did this $3 juice that tasted like oranges. Technically, aren't you fresh-squeezing oranges in your mouth when you eat them?

The 4th star is b/c of the chicken teriyaki omelet ($6.95) - come on, did you expect ME to order a veggie dish for breakfast? Unlike IHOP or Pancake House, Mark's has spicy chili peppers, and topping the omelet with it created quite a breakfast treat. If you're into Asian flavors, you should give it a try for breakfast. They also had Tabasco sauce for my eggs. Mmmmmm...spicy breakfasts!

Service - Friendly, as usual. Mark was there and we said hi. He's such a cute Korean hippie.

Location - Just a random note about Takoma Park. We got an unbelievable parking spot, but I found it odd that people were putting out lawn chairs and blankets in the morning for fireworks - must be some fireworks show, I thought. Just as we finished our breakfast, we found out that Takoma Park has a 4th of July parade and it began and we were trapped. The parade was really cute for 45 minutes, but it dragged on and on and on and on and on for a total of 2 hours. So if you find a sweet parking spot and no other cars are parked anywhere near you, move!

My family usually never, ever goes to a Chinese restaurant, but Oriental East is the one exception. We've been coming here to get dim sum, nothing else, for quite a while now. I remember going to the old restaurant when I was younger.

I haven't had my fair share of dim sum, but this place is amazing!! I do know that they have a separate dim sum menu for people that can't make it on the weekends, but there's no compare to the Chinese women driving little carts around you and screaming at you in Chinese.

My favorites are the taro dumplings, shrimp crepes, pineapple buns, and sticky rice in the banana leaf.

The only cons about this place in my opinion are the long, lonnggg waits and I also hate when the dishes I want run out on a cart so I have to wait for another one to come around. So basically, the wait sucks, but the food is great and the price isn't too shabby either

Golden Pavilion is "the standard" in Chinese food for our brood.  Good food, ample portions, great service and very family friendly.  With multiple kids of all ages, the latter is vital to us.  The toddlers are enchanted by the fish tank, the dark red and gold interior has a calming effect on the teenager, and the potent Zombies work their magic on us parents...  GP is a Bowie institution, an icon of suburban Chinese-American cuisine, the benchmark against which we compare all others...

This Roy's has usurped Roy Rogers, and its gold rush sandwiches and fried chicken, as my favorite Roy's. First a wonderful anniversary and now a terrific birthday celebration for the matrimonial unit - Roy, you are an Island stud.

Service - Making a reservation was a snap and they called me the day of to confirm the reservation. The dinner was a surprise wherein my wife thought the two of us were going out to dinner to celebrate and then SURPRISE 10 of her best friends are at the table. I was a bit nervous when I approached the hostess as I imagined her going, "Su, party of 12, right this way," and ruining the SURPRISE moment. But to their credit, they were aware that it was a surprise and when told of the reservation name, the hostess furtively replied, "Oh, Su. Right this way."

Service during dinner was friendly and attentive, but not annoyingly so. They also acknowledged the wife as the birthday girl, but again, not annoyingly so.

Food - Being a Taco Fiesta (credits to Anson P. and Rich L.), everyone LOVED the edamame and when told it was gratis, I think they all began to fall in love w/ Roy, the Island stud. All of us chose from the $35 Prix Fixe, 3-course menu and the food was excellent. I ordered the Mongolian Grilled Top Sirloin Barbecue cooked rare and it was EXCELLENT. It was served w/ Wasabi mashed potatoes, which was a bit strange at first but soon became like eating Wasabi peas. The ribs were incredibly tender but not that flavorful again and people enjoyed the shrimp and the salmon as well. The dishes are elegantly plated and the flavors are unique.

Dessert - Taco Fiesta + chocolate souffle = foodgasms all over the place. In efforts to keep this PG, I'll leave it at that.

For a nice evening out in BMore, you can't beat Roy, the Island stud.

Yes, Pho 75 is very, very dirty. And conveniently located in the heart of El Salvador in Maryland. This said, Pho 75 has the BEST pho by far in Maryland, and trust me I know my pho.

I've been coming here since I was born basically and just remember everyone, wipe down your chopsticks and spoons thoroughly with a napkin! So when I get any sort of pho cravings, you'll find me weaving through hordes of people literally walking right across University Blvd. (even when there are cars!!) just to eat here.

Be warned though, you'll be sitting on crappy seats, on crappy tables, in a crappy shopping center, surrounded my sketchy people. And, just a hint, I wouldn't try any of their che, which is the Vietnamese desert things which probably are months old, just come here for the best pho ever.

Amazing CD store.
Tons of great used CDs! You can listen to them on the CD player before buying, so you know you're getting the raddest beats. I got three awesome ones for a bit over $20.

Man, this store makes me wish I lived in Baltimore. I'd spend hours here.

So I realize that Arbitron's radio-ratings system might be unfair or gameable or whatever.  But I'm here to review the experience I've had with this business.

The experience I've had with this business:  Last week, I received in the mail an envelope from Arbitron Ratings with two crisp five-dollar bills in it.  They want me to join a panel and earn $10 a month or whatever.  I'm not sure whether I'm going to do it, but I did spend the free $10 they sent me on a pizza.

I will never again throw away junk mail without opening it first.

Good stuff. I'm always a fan of the trusty neighborhood hardware store, as I've done my fair share of DIY projects. While the store was a little disorganized and some things hard to find, the staff was very helpful in solving this problem and helping me to get what I needed. And actually, it was easier to find some things than it is at home depot (which is way too big for its own good, or for mine). The guy who mixed my paint for me also put all my items in a box, helped me find something, and brought everything up to the register for me. Just watch out that you don't accidentally walk into the paint mixing dept on accident like me!

You wouldn't know it from driving by this strip mall in the middle of nowhere-suburbs land, but Edo Sushi, sandwiched in between a chinese carryout and a Safeway is AMAZING. When can we get one in DC?

Points for presentation. My sushi came out on a LEAF. Yes, a leaf. and my california roll was stacked in a rather aesthetically pleasing pyramid. If that's what they do with something as pedestrian as a california roll, you really should see some of their other rolls.

I ordered the california and another specialty roll on the side. This thing was so huge , the sushi roll had its own sushi roll on top of it. It had salmon, avocado, and crunchies in the middle, then the rice and seaweed, THEN seaweed salad layered on top, THEN another piece of salmon sashimi on top. All in one bite. I had a bit of trouble getting that all in - you should have seen me struggling with the chopsticks , desperately trying to balance seaweed and salmon, but the end result was delicious. There were plenty of other very creative rolls on the menu - including one roll in the shape of a heart with tuna around it - so I will have to go back to try!

The decor of the restaurant features lots of light-colored paneling and nifty japanese objects. The service also matches up to some of the better sushi restaurants I've been to as they give you a hot towel before your meal. It really takes you out of the burbs and into the sushi.

Can I kidnap their head chef and bring him back to DC with me?
